Prep4Nine's Science Fair Sponsored by TMH


A science fair is an event where students present their scientific projects and experiments to judges and the public. It provides a platform for students to explore scientific concepts, demonstrate their understanding, and develop critical thinking skills.


When: Saturday, June 13th, 2026

Where: Taric Mosque, 99 Beverly Hills Dr. Toronto, Ontario

Time for Participants, including Setup and Takedown: 12:45 - 5:00 pm

Open to Public: 2:00 - 5:00 pm

Cost: $12 per participant (paper bag lunch included)


All science fair projects must be completed individually.


Key Components of a Science Fair Project

  • Topic Selection: Choose a scientific question or problem to investigate.

  • Research: Conduct background research to understand the topic better.

  • Hypothesis: Formulate a hypothesis based on your research.

  • Experimentation: Design and conduct experiments to test your hypothesis.

  • Data Collection: Gather and analyze data from your experiments.

  • Conclusion: Draw conclusions based on your findings and relate them to your hypothesis.

  • Presentation: Prepare a display board and presentation to communicate your project effectively.


Tips for a Successful Science Fair Project

  • Choose a topic that interests you and is manageable within the time frame.

  • Document your process thoroughly to create a clear and organized presentation.

  • Practice your presentation skills to confidently explain your project to judges and attendees.

  • Be prepared to answer questions about your project and the scientific principles involved.


Common Categories in Science Fairs

  • Chemistry: Experiments involving chemical reactions, compounds, and materials.

  • STEM: Projects that integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to investigate real‑world problems, design solutions, or create innovative systems

  • Environmental Science: Research focused on ecological issues and sustainability.

  • Earth Science: Projects related to structure, processes, and interactions across the planet’s spheres.

  • Physical Science/Physics: Projects that explore the laws of physics, motion, and energy.

  • Life Science/Biology: Projects related to living organisms, ecosystems, and life processes.
