Language Fundamentals


Language Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for grades 1/2 in grammar, mechanics, usage, and vocabulary practice. Students will practice building their language skills in the first of this three part series and will cover the following topics:

  • Nouns 

  • Adjectives

  • Pronouns 

  • Verbs

  • Adverbs

  • Sentence Structure


This class includes arts and crafts, and a list of supplies needed will be uploaded to the classroom weekly.


 PREREQUISITE: 

Reading and writing at grade 1 level.  


*Please note October 14th will be a Thanksgiving long weekend holiday.


Refund Policy

If you choose to withdraw from the course, please see below:

Aug 7th:  90% refund

Aug 27th:  50% refund

After the first class:  50% credit or 25% refund

In short stories, we learned how to identify different parts of a story and the themes in the story. I enjoyed reading the short stories and found them quite interesting. In novel studies, I enjoyed reading the books and afterward having debates about topics in the book. 


It was really fun when we did impromptu debates because we learned how to prepare a small speech on any topic in just a few minutes.
