Persuasive Essay and Media 7/8

Persuasive Essay & Media Studies:  This is an 8 week course.

This is a self paced independent course where students have 4 months to complete the course material. 

This course includes:  8 hours of recording 

• Recorded classes ( 1 hr each)

• Homework

• Teacher will mark students homework for the 6 writing tasks provided

• Access to teacher for questions and concerns

• A chance to hear other students comments and questions from the live classes

This 8-week course will focus on teaching students how to:

1. Write a persuasive essay using ethos, pathos, and logos

2. Write a newspaper article

Throughout the course, students will learn:

• Structure: organize the essay into an introduction, body and conclusion

• Thesis statement: write a clear and conscise thesis statement

• Research: how to gather facts and examples to support your answer

• Parts of a Newspaper Article: learn how to organize content into headline, byline, lead, body and conclusion
