French Part 2 (Grades 6–8)

The Intermediate French course builds on the foundations learned in Part 1 and focuses on developing practical communication skills. Students will expand their vocabulary, strengthen their understanding of basic grammar, and gain confidence in expressing opinions and discussing everyday situations in French.

Topics Covered

•  Review vocabulary from Part 1

•  Numbers 21-50

•  Common prepositions

•  Regular adjectives

•  Verbs (verbs ending in ER in the present tense)

•  Nouns (plural form of regular nouns)

•  Feelings and emotions

•  Home and furniture

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

•  Describe familiar objects, people, and places using simple French sentences.

•  Read and understand short stories in French.

•  Talk about their home, food preferences, and daily experiences.

•  Express feelings, emotions, likes, and dislikes.

•  Use common prepositions and pronouns appropriately.

•  Conjugate and use the verbs ending in ER and IR in the present tense.

Course Culminating Assessment

Dream room:  students will design their dream room and describe it using vocabulary learned in class

Prerequisite: Completion of French Part 1 or equivalent beginner-level French experience.
