This course is designed to prepare students to fully comprehend the text they read by focusing on the style of writing, vocabulary, and figures of speech.
In this 7-week Reading Comprehension Course, students will enhance their reading skills through:
Analyzing informational, graphic, and narrative texts
Drawing inferences
Responding to a reading selection by quoting from the text
Integrating personal knowledge and experiences with the ideas in a text

In short stories, we learned how to identify different parts of a story and the themes in the story. I enjoyed reading the short stories and found them quite interesting. In novel studies, I enjoyed reading the books and afterward having debates about topics in the book.
It was really fun when we did impromptu debates because we learned how to prepare a small speech on any topic in just a few minutes.
